Education is a core pillar of Saint Lucia’s development and a key area of engagement for the Consulate General. Whether you are a Saint Lucian student studying in Martinique, Guadeloupe, or French Guiana, or a parent seeking guidance for your child’s academic path, the Consulate is here to assist.
Support for Students Studying in the French Territories
Many Saint Lucian nationals pursue secondary, vocational, or university education in the French territories. While the Consulate does not provide scholarships or direct school placements, we offer the following support services:
- Letter of nationality or identity (for school applications)
- Assistance with official forms (school records, enrollment, health certificates) Translation of documents from English to French and vice versa (fees apply)
- Consular verification of educational certificates for Saint Lucian nationals
Students are encouraged to register with the Consulate so we can assist in the event of emergencies, legal issues, or urgent document needs.
Recognition of Qualifications
If you are a student returning to Saint Lucia from the French system and need to translate or verify your academic documents, the Consulate can:
- Translate report cards, diplomas, or transcripts (fees apply)
- Refer you to the relevant Saint Lucian ministries for qualification equivalence
- Provide notarisation or legalization if required by your local institution
Guidance for Parents
For Saint Lucian parents residing in the French territories:
- We can provide advice on enrolling your child in local schools
- Translate or prepare documents needed for school admission
- Assist with educational support letters for prefecture or immigration purposes
If you are planning to return to Saint Lucia with your child, we can advise on:
- School registration procedures
- Required documents for transferring school records
- Contacting the Ministry of Education in Saint Lucia
Studying in Saint Lucia
If you are a resident of the French territories and interested in studying in Saint Lucia:
